Ahimsa, Compassion, and a Prayer for the World
In our last e-newsletter, I shared reflections on Ahimsa, or non-violence—the first limb of the Eightfold Path of Yoga. At Heartsong Yoga, compassion and loving-kindness are woven into all we do, with Ahimsa as the foundation of our practice. Another way you can embody this is through the Sanskrit mantra Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu “May all beings everywhere be happy and free.” This timeless prayer reminds us that we are deeply connected—to one another and to all of life—and that our thoughts, words, and actions truly matter. In times of challenge or uncertainty, repeating this peace mantra can gently calm the mind, soothe the soul, and help us radiate love into the world.

Here’s a contemporary musical expression of this beautiful mantra, “Diamonds in the Sun” by Girish and Friends. You can listen on Spotify and let it carry you into a sense of peace and ease.

As always, wishing you Peace,
In your Hearts, your Homes, and in our World.
